No. And I’m not claiming to having come up from “broke”, from driving a clunker or from living in some dank, dark basement room in my parent's home.  The truth is, I had it okay for a while.  Well, as far as I knew, I did.  I do, however, have a scattered background:

Well, after two economy-induced lay-offs from my telecom management job and the recruiting job (just up the street from the White House on Penn Ave, I might add), I went back to what I knew, pooling my elite military experience to gain work as a high-threat protective agent for U.S. personnel in Iraq.

And to be honest, the pay was the best I had ever made.  Although I’m not really sure what it’s worth dodging bullets and roadside bombs for a living. : ).  However, you start to realize that, when you’re away from your family for 7-9 months a year, money doesn’t really fix everything.

We're not dealing with "The Real Wives of New Jersey" here, and money was not mending my wife's broken heart each time I left.

Then Came the Breaking Point:

Just imagine… after 3 months away in iraq… for the third time last year (2008)… coming out of the airport to the open arms of my lovely, waiting wife.  Just as always, her arms are open, her eyes are huge, blue and teary and she smothers me with the biggest hug. 

Then she asks the question that, on the spot, changes it all for me:

“When do you have to go back?” 

And that was it. The breaking point. Hearing that  That just killed me. 

After so long apart, and after not being sure if I’d even make it home from my duty of protecting others… my beautiful wife’s first words were NOT “I missed you.” (that was next).  They were: “When do you have to go back?”

It was then and there that I realized, in spite of her brave “game face” she wore for me, how much my work was killing us, and that I needed to find a way to shorten, lessen, and then ultimately end my trips away from her for work.  

But With The Recession...How Do You Replace a 160K/yr Salary?

Enter the World Wide Web.

I needed a way to match or, should I even hope, exceed my income from Iraq. But on the Internet? Sure, internet spending is consistently climbing, even in the midst of the crappy recession, but I couldn't begin to imagine where to start. Talk about a learning curve!...

Well, I'd already seen a lot of hype and fluff from other so-called "businesses"... so when I stumbled across some guy discussing how he made tens of thousands dollars a month online, I made only a half-hearted effort to reach him, and actually had to wait 2 days before he called me back. 

When he asked why I was looking into online business, I joked that I needed to find a way to match the 22 thousand dollars per month I made in Iraq.  This was actually my real salary, but I though for sure that number might get some back-pedaling.  And he didn’t even flinch.  He said, “All you need to do is follow my lead, and I can show you how to make that happen.”

Yeah... Right. Now I may have taken a boot to the head a time or two in the military, but I was not an idiot.  Especially after being burned by more “opportunities” on the Web than anyone would want to admit out loud. At first, I had a really hard time swallowing what he was telling me.

Then on top of all that, in spite of all the hype and garbage I was finding every day, he actually told me I had to apply to work with his winning team.  The nerve! 

But something strange stuck with me:  I always seemed to have to contact HIM for information.  He was making money hand over fist, had his team to lead, and wasn’t  too concerned with whether I chose to join it or not. 

His confidence, no-pressure discussion and words stayed with me.  Just imagine… having people apply to work with you!  What a concept!

An entirely new world opened up to me.  Everyday people like me were earning CEO level incomes online, all verifiable with signed, legal affidavits!
